Welcome To Weimar Elementary School

Kristy Janecka, Principal

Message from the Principal
At Weimar Elementary, you will find a warm, inviting campus where curious Wildcats are on an exciting path to excellence. Students, teachers, staff and community alike are committed to making this exceptional school a 'Grrrrrrrreat' place to learn and grow.

Earth Day is an annual celebration of our beautiful planet, with a mission to promote a greener future. Weimar Elementary celebrated Earth Day on Monday, April 23rd by planting a live oak tree on one of our playgrounds. The students were excited to get their hands dirty, and help shovel dirt and mulch around the newly planted tree.
Fourth grade students visited Hill Bank and Trust Company in Weimar as a culminating activity for their Financial Literacy Unit in Math.

WES hosted their Spring Book Fair Thursday, April 19th, from 4-6 pm.
Thank you Turtle Wing Foundation and Mrs. Ware. The students really enjoyed it.

Mrs. Wear

Mrs. Ware is our Librarian at WES. She loves being a part of our school community and is thrilled to share stories and books with all the little wildcats here on campus. WES has a wonderful library full of fun and exciting books and is here for the benefit and enjoyment of our students.
Reading is important for student's success. Children who read frequently become life long readers, which is one of our goals for our students. We use an Accelerated Reader program which helps to build enthusiasm for reading. It is a fun and effective reading program that motivates the children.

The fun never ends, When books are your friends!

Weimar Public Library has approved Accelerated Reader books.

Snack Shack
A Snack Shack is available to students from Monday to Thursday after school. Students are able to purchase a quick snack for $.50 cents before homework lab or tutorials.
Ice Cream is available to all students Fridays in the Cafe for $.50 cents.
All proceeds will go directly to WES PTO funds.

WES Drop Off / Pick Up Procedures
The safety of our WES students and staff is top priority. We are requesting that all students being dropped off in the morning and picked up at the end of the day adhere to the following procedures.
Students can be dropped off in the morning no earlier then 7:30 am. Staff will be on duty starting at 7:45 am. There is only one traffic lane circling through the pick up / drop off area. Do not attempt to pass other cars unless directed to do so.  Children must always enter and exit from the passenger side of the vehicle. Out of consideration for others in line, children should unload quickly and move immediately to the side walk.
The pick up and drop off area requires each drivers full attention, no cell phone use is permitted in the circle drive. Students are not allowed to be picked up or dropped off in the bus lane.
