We are happy to announce that Ms. Candace Mahaffey will be joining the Weimar music staff as the elementary music specialist.
Born in Lubbock, Texas, Candace attended Decatur High School where she was first recognized for her musical leadership as choir section leader and band drum major. She received a Bachelor of Music Education from Baylor University and a Master of Music Education from the University of North Texas.
Candace is a Kodály certified music educator with six years of experience in the elementary music classroom and has also taught at the collegiate level preparing future music educators and instructing how to incorporate music in the general classroom. Candace has presented at state and national music conferences as well.
Candace wishes to join the Weimar ISD music team and continue to develop the inherent musical skills of our students.
